ROCKLAND — Meredith Anderson, 67, died unexpectedly Nov. 29, 2021, at her home in Rockland.

She was born Feb. 12, 1954, in San Marcos, Texas to William Sandblom and E. Hope Ludy Sandblom. She grew up in Friendship, and graduated from MVHS, class of 1972. She married and raised three sons.

For the past 20 years, Meredith was employed at Walmart in Thomaston. Always smiling and polite to her customers, she made many friends over the years.

People recognized her wherever she went, and they always made a point to say hello. She loved family picnics and it was her job to bring the devilled eggs. A trip to Hollywood Slots, or a long truck ride with her good friend Richard Simmons, was always special to her.

Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy in life. She loved cooking their favorite dishes and cherished the time spent with them. Meredith’s kind and generous nature and wonderful sense of humor will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Meredith was predeceased by her parents; brothers, William and Timothy Sandblom; and sister, Lynn Sandblom.

She is survived by her three sons: Harold Anderson, and his wife, Jody, and their daughter, Isabella, Andrew Anderson, and his son, Nick, and daughters, Arianna and Cadance and Jamie Anderson, and his daughter, Autumn; sisters, Pam Lutte and Hope Hilton; and brothers, Richard, John and David Sandblom.

A graveside service will be held in the Harbor Cemetery in Friendship on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, at noon. Contributions in Meredith’s memory may be made to Pope Memorial Humane Society, P.O. Box 1294, Rockland,ME 04841.
