NEWPORT — Bobbie J. Thomas Sr., 80, passed away on Nov. 15, 2021, at Lakewood Rehab Care Unit after a short illness.
Born in Dickerson Country, Vir., He was the son of Kedna F. Thomas and Fonnie (Thomas) Burns. He moved to Maine with his mother and stepfather, Harry L Burns.
Bobbie was also known as Cannonball or Rebel. He loved their little dog, Missy, building things, his music and doing his family tree. One of his favorite jobs was working on the Flag Ship American Eagle as a welder.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline (Blanchard) Thomas; four sons: Bobbie Thomas Jr., and wife, Christine, Ricky Thomas, Randy Thomas and Craig Thomas; daughter, Heather (Billings) Thomas; three stepsons: Alan Burrows, Rodney Burrows and Robert Burrows; two sisters: Pauline Davis of Rockland and Judith Andrews Duhamel of New Hampshire; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers: Edd Thomas, Larry Thomas, Douglas Burns and Maynard Burns
Per his request, no funeral services will be held. Any donations may be made to any heart or cancer association.
