ROCKLAND — Two people were taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 24, following a crash on Limerock Street near the intersection of Oliver Street.

According to investigating officer Rockland Police Sgt. Ken Smith, a 2014 Ford F150 single cab truck, driven by Eric Wass, 63, of Rockland, was traveling east on Limerock  when it went off the road for an undetermined reason. There was a significant drop off and the truck bottomed out.

The truck then ended up back on the road. The crash occurred about 2 p.m.

Wass and an adult passenger were taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport for suspected internal injuries. Wass was wearing his seatbelt. The adult passenger was not wearing his seatbelt, but had airbag deployment on the passenger side.

Rockland Police were assisted by Rockland Fire/Emergency Medical Services and Thomaston EMS.

Power was knocked out briefly. Central Maine Power responded.
