Camden — The newly restored steeple and spire of the First Congregational Church of Camden will be free of scaffolding in time for the holiday season.

Removal of the scaffolding began the morning of Nov. 23, according to Amy Rollins, church moderator.

The restoration work involved resheathing the entire steeple and spire with composite materials in the exact configuration of the wooden sheathing that was in need of replacement. The work was done by Taylor-Made Builders and began in August.
