UNION — Philip R. Roy, Sr., 61, left this world far too soon, Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, at his home with his loving wife at his side.

Born in Biddeford, Aug. 24, 1960, he was the son of Philip L.R. and Elizabeth Oxton Roy. Phil grew up in Union and attended schools there. During his younger years, he enjoyed sports, and excelled on the baseball diamond. He was a life-long Patriots fan and never missed a game.

On June 26, 2004, Phil married his best friend and soul mate Tami O’Shana. Together they have resided in the home he grew up in, making it their own.

A jack-of-all trades, Phil has been a hard worker his entire life. Throughout his life, he has lived in several different places including Florida, where he worked for many years as a carpenter. Phil’s heart however has always been on the ocean. He has worked as a sternman for most of his career, and even when he wasn’t on the water, he was talking about being there.

When he wasn’t busy working, Phil loved being on his Harley, going hunting, and spending time with his kids and grandchildren. His family was his world, and he would do anything to make them happy. Sitting around the camp fire with friends and family were some of his favorite times. He was a true ‘Phil-Anthropist’ and was always the first to offer a helping hand to someone in need.

He was a great man, and will be sadly missed by many.

Predeceased by his father and step-mother, Philip and Marion Roy; mother and step–father, Elizabeth and Donald Harvey; a sister Vickie Dennison; and a brother Danny Roy. Philip is survived by his wife, Tami Roy, of Union; children, Courtney Howard and her companion, Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Morse, of Morrill, Philip Roy, Jr. and his companion, Kayla Sherman, of Sarasota, Fla, Daniel Roy and his companion, Alyssa Graham, of Norridgewock and Andrew Roy of Owls Head; four grandchildren, Eloise, Cora, Harrison and River; siblings, Cathy Abbott and her husband, John, of Camden, April St. Clair of Rockland, LeRoy St. Clair and his wife, Patty, of St. George, Felicia St. Clair and her companion, Christopher Widdecombe, of Warren; a sister-in-law Dixie Roy of Warren; as well as many nieces, nephews and too many friends to count.

A memorial gathering was held on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, at Burpee, Carpenter and Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
