BELFAST/ROCKLAND — The new documentary film “Truth Tellers” tours several Maine theaters beginning in late November and running through Spring 2022. About Brooksville artist/activist Robert Shetterly’s project “Americans Who Tell the Truth,” the film provides insight into this his thinking about the current state of political affairs in our country.

The film screens at the Colonial Theatre, 163 High St., Belfast, Sunday, Nov. 21, at 4 p.m., and Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 22 and 23, at 6: 30 p.m. A Q&A with Shetterly and Director Richard Kane of Sedgwick follows the Nov. 23 showing. Attendees are asked to show proof of vaccination.

The Strand Theatre, 345 Main St., Rockland, screens the documentary Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, the time to be determined.

“Truth Tellers: An Artist’s Journey to Uphold Our Founding Ideals” couldn’t be more current, delving into racial and indigenous justice and climate change through Shetterly’s portrait subjects. . .his “models of courageous citizenship.”
