There were 10 additional COVID-19 cases reported in Knox County in the past day, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Thursday, Nov. 11.

An additional Knox County resident was admitted to a hospital with the virus during the past day as well.

Since the pandemic began, 2,213 Knox County residents have been diagnosed with the virus, 54 have been admitted to hospitals, and 13 have died.

Statewide, an additional 754 cases were reported in the past day. There were three additional deaths reported statewide Nov. 11, increasing the number to 1,220.

There were 17 additional people statewide admitted to hospitals in Maine with COVID-19 during the past day, increasing that number to 2,920 since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The spike in hospitalizations continues, as 225 Mainers are hospitalized with the virus, 69 in critical care units and 29 on respirators.

The CDC reported Nov. 10, 30,662 Knox County residents — 80 percent of the eligible population — are fully vaccinated. This is up 16 from the previous day.

Statewide, 74 percent of eligible people have been fully vaccinated.

Health officials continue to urge people wear masks in indoor public places and to get vaccinated.
