THOMASTON — Thomaston extended the date for the Parks and Trails Public Survey to Tuesday, Nov. 30.

A Nov. 8 press release from the town encouraged non-residents to participate as well.

“You do not have to live in Thomaston to participate,” the town said. “Your vote matters and we want to hear from you. What improvements would you like to see in our parks and trails? Which parks and trails do you value the most? Are there other Recreation Programs you would like the town to offer? Are your community needs being met?”

The survey can be found at

With the recently expanded need and appreciation for publicly accessible park spaces, and the recreation opportunities they afford, Thomaston seeks to develop a parks and recreation master plan that can guide future decision-making and management of the town-owned parks, open spaces, natural areas, and trails.

The master plan covers the town-owned parks, natural areas, and trails (Mayo Park, Mall Park, Mill River Park, Thomaston Green Park, Town Rec Area, Town Forest, Wadsworth Street Parcel, Oyster River Multi Use Trails, and the Thomaston Village Trail) as well as the recreational programs, events, and activities offered through the Recreation Department.
