ROCKPORT — Rockport Police, Rockport Fire, and Northeast Ambulance responded to a crash on Route 1 Friday, Nov. 5 involving three vehicles that closed up the road for a time, according to the police report from Sgt. James Moore of the Rockport Police Department.

The call went to dispatch at about 11:48 a.m. for the crash at 106 Commercial St.

Peter Chavez, 23, of Sidney, was driving a white 2016 International tractor trailer north on Commercial Street. Alyce Delfino, 62, of Rockland, was driving a blue 2014 Subaru north behind Chavez.

Nicholas Heald, 38, of Rockport, was driving a silver 2013 Dodge pickup south on Commercial Street and crossed the center line, striking the front tandem axle on Chavez’ trailer and contining into the opposite lane.

Heald’s vehicle then struck Delfino’s vehicle and both vehicles came to a stop in the ditch.

All vehicles were towed from the scene due to disabling damage.

One person was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center where they were treated and released. No other injuries were reported.

Two vehicles were removed by Camden Exxon and the tractor trailer was removed by Greely’s Garage out of Auburn.

The crash remains under investigation.
