APPLETON — Rosemary Lavway, born Rosemary Helen Gould, 76, left us Oct. 10, 2021.

Rosemary was born in Colebrook, N.H., and grew up the oldest of five children, with three brothers; Alan, Dennis and David, as well as her sister, Daisy.

She attended nursing school as a young woman and became an LPN. On Nov. 7, 1968, Rosemary married John Lavway, and they had four sons; Richard, Dennis, John and Michael.

She worked at Camden Hospital, and at a hospital on Mountain Street in Camden. In her later years, she did home health care and worked boarding homes.  Rosemary finished her career at the Catherine Brown House.

She also took care of her mother, Olive, and her father, Richard, when their health started to fail. Rosemary had a strong love for her kids and for all her grandchildren.

Rosemary is survived by two sons, John and Michael and his wife, Kim Lavway; brothers, Alan Gould and wife, Carol, David Gould and his wife, Brenda; sister, Daisy and husband, Jarvis Johnson.

In closing, Rosemary was a strong woman who endured hardship and sorrow at times in her life.  Survived by two of her four sons, nothing waned her spirit.

I hope she will get the love and serenity that she has earned. A special thanks to all those who touched her heart through the years; thank you, John.

Services will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, Appleton, Maine, on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at 9 a.m.
