Disappointed with the Select Board

I am disappointed with the Camden’s Select Board’s response to my plea that I made to them on Oct. 19. I asked that the town stop using Tannery Park as a default space for a staging station of their heavy equipment, and fill for projects on roadways, bridges, and sidewalks. The property is in the middle of a residential neighborhood. The equipment makes very loud noises beginning at 7 a.m. Many projects resulted in large dust storms. Children are no longer safe to play at the property.

There have been no announcements about the four proposals for use of the property that required a lot of time from town officials, and interest from the press. None of the proposals was put on the November ballot.

The only response I got for my plea was, “We’re working on it.” Never mind that the town has been working on it for 15 years. I would like a public statement from town officials about what are their futures plans, and how are they being decided.
