ST. GEORGE — Two people suffered minor injuries after a sports utility vehicle struck a house in St. George on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 27.

At approximately 3:43 p.m., the Knox Regional Communications Center received reports of a motor vehicle crash, involving a house, on the River Road in St. George. First responders arrived and found a Toyota Highlander, operated by David Chase, 89, of St. George, crashed into a house.

The incident is still under investigation. The preliminary report is that the vehicle driven by Chase had been traveling south on the River Road when it crossed over the center line, went off the road, struck a tree, and struck a house.

Chase and a passenger were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. The cause of the crash is still pending, but is suspected to be medically related.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Knox RCC, St George Fire and Emergency Medical Services, South Thomaston Ambulance, and Automaster.
