THOMASTON — Community volunteers came together Saturday, Oct. 23 to give a boy a ride he will not forget.
Nine-year-old Jesse Richey rode a mini-chopper and led a long line of motorcycles from Dexter Street Extension on Saturday, Oct. 23.
Jesse, who is battling an illness, loves motorcycles and fishing. R & T Cycles in Thomaston in conjunction with Far Meadow Construction put the event together. R & T — Joseph Dinapoli, Josh Tripp, and Derrick Riddick — Far Meadow, and Sargent Lock and Safe built and donated the mini-motorcycle to Jesse.
On Saturday, he got to lead a pack of motorcycles. Following the procession, there was live music, food, and raffles with items donated from local businesses. Police blocked off a stretch of Route 1 for the procession.
