BELFAST — Busline League middle school field hockey student-athletes picked up their sticks again after the 2020 season was canceled due to COVID-19. Unfortunately, while the youngsters got the opportunity to play a handful of regular-season games as programs looked to regroup and rebuild, the sport will not include playoffs this fall.

Area teams that offer field hockey include Troy Howard Middle School of Belfast, Oceanside Middle School of Thomaston, Camden-Rockport Middle School, Great Salt Bay of Damariscotta and Boothbay Region Elementary School.

Troy Howard has won the majority of the past championships, and also brought an unbeaten streak of 60-0-1 into this season.

Among games this season was Camden-Rockport at Troy Howard on Tuesday, Oct. 12, from which photos and video appear with this story.
