APPLETON — The Appleton Library recently awarded two Kindles to patrons who completed the latest reading program. An adult Kindle Fire was awarded to Jackie DeRico and a children’s Kindle went to Max, on the right, who promised to share the Kindle with his younger brother, Ricky. Both recipients were delighted with the Kindles, which were donated by the Union Masonic Lodge. Look for the next reading program when more Kindles will be given out as prizes. The library will also hold a book/puzzle/CD/ and baked goods and yard sale Oct. 23. In the event of rain, it will be held large meeting hall.

The Appleton Library is currently open Tuesdays from noon to 8 p.m., Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1p.m. Curbside pickup is also available during those hours. For more information call 785-5656.
