CAMDEN — Betty D. Cogan, 97, passed away Oct. 6, 2021, with her family by her side.

Betty was born to Theodore and Dora Jonasson  Sept. 10, 1924, in Vinalhaven. She resided in Warren most of her life, where she loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. Her favorite pastimes were making people her famous cinnamon swirl coffee cake and her weekly bingo outings with her friends.

Betty met many new friends at her granddaughter’s cupcake shop, Laugh loud Smile big, where she hung out for 10 years, in her own personalized GRAM rocking chair, and made herself the Official Greeter and Cupcake Box Maker.

Betty was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Norman Cogan; brother, Carl Jonasson; and a granddaughter, Charlene Ryan.

Betty is survived by five children and their spouses, Donna Arpin, Linda and Joe Cloutier, Lois and David Perry, Cindy and Cliff Blastow and Bob and Julie Cogan.  She leaves behind eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren whom she felt privileged to live long enough to know and love.  She is also survived by her sister, Gloria Conary, and nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to Merry Gardens, where she resided the last three years with excellent and loving care.  Betty’s family has chosen to remember her privately.
