ROCKPORT — Busline League middle school golfers were out in force on the beautiful Megunticook Golf Course on Wednesday, Oct. 6 in a three-team match that included Troy Howard of Belfast, Great Salt Bay of Damariscotta and host Camden-Rockport.
The Schooners earned individual and team wins as the young golfers demonstrated skill and sportsmanship.
There has been few middle school athletic events in recent years due to the pandemic, but this fall young student-athletes who play soccer, field hockey, football, golf and run cross country are back in the game.
That was the case on Wednesday as young Cougars, Schooners and Lions teed it up for a few hours of drives, chips and putts.
In the past other schools, such as Medomak of Waldoboro and Oceanside of Thomaston, among others, had golf teams. Some still do, at various levels of participation, including the Mariners.
