Waldoboro student enrolls at St. Lawrence University

CANTON, N.Y. — St. Lawrence University enrolled more than 640 new students this fall, including 625 members of the Class of 2025 and 17 transfer students.

Alexis J. Parent of Waldoboro is one of the newest students to the university, graduating in 2025. Parent recently graduated from Medomak Valley High School.

Wilson Gray awarded Educator’s Legacy Scholarship

WESTMINSTER, Md. — McDaniel College awarded select freshmen and transfer students with Educator’s Legacy Scholarships valued up to $100,000. Of these freshman and transfer students was local South Thomaston resident Wilson Gray. Gray is a graduate of Camden Hills Regional High School.

Students with a parent or guardian who has at least four years of current employment at a K-12 school or community college can apply for this guaranteed scholarship to attend McDaniel College. Any service qualifies, such as teachers, administrators, counselors, nurses or support staff, as long as the employment is directly through the school or college.

The Educator’s Legacy Scholarship one of the largest scholarships offered at McDaniel. There is no limit to the number of Educator’s Legacy Scholarships awarded annually by McDaniel.
