BROOKS — Arthur George Riley Sr., 90, passed away Oct. 5, 2021. He battled dementia for many years. Due to his condition and a major fall, he was hospitalized at Ascension Seton in Kyle, Texas.

Arthur was born in Monroe to George and Evelyn (Parsons) Riley July 15, 1931.

Arthur held many different jobs throughout his life, including serving in the Army, working in a shoe factory, and being a crane operator before moving to Buda, Texas.

He enjoyed reading and watching old westerns on television. He enjoyed mowing lawns for the local churches and community.

He is survived by his brother, Leon Riley; four children, Raymond J. Riley, Janice M. Brown, Michael J. Riley, Martha J. Lewis, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Myrtle (Peggy) E. Riley, son Arthur G. Riley Jr. and a grandson.

A memorial service will be held in Brooks in summer 2022.
