LINCOLNVILLE — Joan Peterkin Foxwell, 90, passed away peacefully Sept. 24, 2021, in Camden. She was born and raised in Chicago, Ill., the eldest of three daughters of Bessie and Daniel Peterkin Jr.

Joan married the love of her life, Richard (Bill) Foxwell of Camden, in 1953. They raised four children in Hinsdale, Ill. where Joan was active with gardening, making pottery, the arts, and traveling. After Richard retired, they moved to their house in Northport, where they had a brief business of raising oysters. They eventually became “snowbirds,” spending the winters in Hobe Sound, Fla. and traveling the world. She was a long-time member of The Megunticook Golf Club and The Camden Yacht Club and was active with several local charities.

Joan is pre-deceased by her husband, Richard, and her son, Charlie. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Foxwell, of Norwood, Colo., Karen Foxwell, of Northport, and Wendy Bolding, of Fairview, Pa. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Taylor Foxwell, of Philadelphia, Pa., Beth Foxwell, of Baltimore, Md., Tucker Bolding, of Washington, D.C., and Hayley Bolding, of Los Angeles, Calif.; and by her five great-grandchildren.
