APPLETON — Mildred Stevens Williams Memorial Library in Appleton has announced that due to the generosity of the Union Masonic Lodge, it has recently been able to purchase over 50 books for young readers. The books include numerous works of fiction, some poetry, books focusing specifically on race, gender, and social and political issues, and a number of graphic novels. The new selections include the categories of both juvenile and young adult readers. The works are all Maine Student Book Award Winners and are highly recommended.

The Appleton Library is currently open on Tuesdays from noon to 8 p.m.; Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 to 1 p.m. Curbside pickup is also available during those hours. Call 785-5656 for more information.
