ROCKLAND — With sunshine and clear weather, the Rockland Rotary and the City of Rockland hosted a community picnic at the MacDougal Park.

There was a ribbon cutting ceremony commemorating the grand opening of the completed walkway around the park.

Rockland Rotary provided grilled hotdogs, chips and lemonade free for the public. Visiting children played giant Jenga, a game of bean bag toss, Nerf dart games and flew kites.

The celebratory day ended with tug-of-war between members of Rockland Rotary and City Rockland employees.

The members of the Rockland Rotary would like to extend a message of gratitude to all volunteers who participated in making this event a  success.
