CAMDEN — The Camden Snow Bowl Trail Fest returns on Saturday, Oct. 2 and is set for trips around Ragged Mountain.

Presented by Baxter Outdoors, Trail Runners of Midcoast Maine and Midcoast Maine New England Mountain Bike Association, the event is part trail race, part mountain bike race, and part festival.

There will be a 3-kilometer (1.9-mile) children’s trail run, 5K (3.1-mile) trail run and 10K (6.2-mile) mountain bike race. There also is a 15K event which pairs the trail run and bike race together for a duathlon.

The duathlon can be completed solo, or as a team. The run will be completed first, then the bike portion.

Racing begins at 10 a.m. Registration fees vary from $15 for the 3K children’s trail run to $50 for the team duathlon.

Sign-up is available at baxteroutdoors.com/event/camden-snowbowl.

Directors of the event announced a new bike course, and scaled back portions of the festival from previous years.

Additionally, every mile biked will raise money for Midcoast Maine NEMBA, thanks to Sidecountry Sports, and every mile run will raise money for Teens to Trails thanks to Baxter Brewing Company.

The festival portion of the event will offer food and live music.
