UNION — On Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 2 and 3, Sweetgrass Farm Winery and Distillery is participating in Maine Craft Weekend, the annual statewide tour of Maine craft studios and events, by hosting local artist Linda Brissette. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Brissette will be showing and selling more than 30 of her paintings. She employs the use of color to express her appreciation for the places and family scenes that have been especially meaningful to her during her lifetime. Growing up in Camden and later raising her own children a few miles inland in Waldo County, Brissette a social worker by profession, painting whenever she found an opportunity to indulge in her passion. Now retired, she is able to devote her time fully to her painting. Her paintings of commonplace scenes, expressed in a colorful and unique perspective, are aimed at communicating to the viewer a sense of how highly valued and precious is this way of life we enjoy in Maine.

No reservations are required and there is no charge to visit Brissette’s art exhibit and sale. Sweetgrass is located at 347 Carroll Road. Visit sweetgrasswinery.com for more information.
