MCH Meals on Wheels, a non-profit organization that delivers home-cooked, well-balanced meals Monday through Friday to people in need in Knox County, began accepting donations through the Hannaford Giving Tag Program.

When a shopper purchases a $2.50 reusable community bag at any Hannaford store, they can direct a $1 donation to a local non-profit by using the attached giving tag.

Upon purchasing a community bag with the giving tag at any Hannaford, shoppers are directed to:

1. Visit myhannafordcause.com within seven days of their purchase.

2. Remove the scratch-off layer on the giving tag to reveal the unique identifier.

3. Submit their identifier and select the non-profit they would like to receive a $1 donation.

The Hannaford Giving Tag Program, which launched February 2020, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with a goal to make positive change in communities where shoppers live and work.

MCH Inc. “Making Community Happen” is an independent, non-profit community service organization, with a mission to aid individuals — primarily older adults and people with disabilities — to maintain independent, active lives by providing access to affordable housing, meals and other supportive services.
