ROCKLAND — Rhona (Ronny) Jones Pope passed away Sept. 3, 2021.

She was born April 14, 1938 in Wellington, New Zealand, daughter of Elizabeth True Jones and Victor C. Jones.

She was educated at Cushing Academy, The MacDuffie School and the University of Massachusetts. She lived in Skaneateles, New York, before retiring from Family Services of Syracuse as Coordinator for Administrative Services in 2004.

Upon retirement, she moved to Rockland. In retirement, she enjoyed her volunteer hours with The Apprentice shop, The Olsen House, the Rockland library and as a reader at the Talbot House. She always had a book going, she was deeply interested in women’s issues, and she was a serious follower of the news.

She leaves behind her son Douglas and his wife, Beth; two grandsons Tristan E. Pope and his partner, Jessie Northgraves, of Warren and Collin V. Pope of Greene, and two great-grandchildren, Beau and Shirley.

Ronny was predeceased by her son, Christopher C. Pope.

A service will be held at a later date. Contributions can be made to the Friends of the Rockland Library.
