CAMDEN — The local Post 30 American Legion will hold their annual remembrance event for prisoners of war and those missing in action.
The event will be held on the Village Green beginning at 9 a.m. sharp on Friday, Sept. 17.
State Representative Vickie Doudera for Camden, Islesboro and Rockport will be a speaker at the event. A member of Post 30 will read the names of 11 military personnel from Maine who served in the Vietnam War and are still unaccounted for.
The Post encourages the public to join them on the Village Green for this ceremony.
Post 30 is also sponsoring the Wreaths Across America mobile education exhibit, which will visit the Public Landing at 3 p.m. that day. Members of the public can tour the mobile education unit, which offers interactive exhibits, short films and shared stories about patriotism and service in our nation’s military.
