ROCKLAND — The 120-foot cell tower that led to a federal lawsuit is up in Rockland. The monopole is located at 182 Camden St. next to Pizza Hut.

Bay Communications first proposed the tower in October 2019.

The Rockland Planning Board rejected the project in February 2020, which led the company to file a lawsuit in federal court. The City Council and Bay Communications III LLC reached an agreement to allow the tower to be erected. The Rockland Planning Board challenged that agreement, but a federal judge dismissed its claims in April.

Site work was ongoing for months, and the tower was raised in the past week.
