Local residents named to Clark University’s spring dean’s list

WORCESTER, Mass. — Clark University recently announced the spring 2021 dean’s list students, including two local students. Students must have a GPA of 3.8 or above for first honors or a GPA between 3.50 and 3.79 for second honors.

Aidan Giasson of Rockland, and Matthew Thomas Young of Thomaston were named to first honors.

Clark University is an arts-based research university.

Tolley named to Simmons University dean’s list

BOSTON, Mass. — Katherine Tolley, a Waldoboro resident, was named to the 2021 spring semester dean’s list at Simmons University in Boston.

To qualify for dean’s list status, undergraduate students must obtain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, based on 12 or more credit hours of work in classes using the letter grade system.

Flores recognized at School of Mathematics and Sciences 2021 Honors Convocation

ALBANY, N.Y. — Elizabeth Flores of Rockland, a medical technology major, was honored during the spring 2021 Honors Convocation for the School of Mathematics and Sciences at The College of Saint Rose.

Flores received the Sally Fox Memorial Award in Microbiology. This award is presented to the best student in biology, microbiology or medical technology. It is based on GPA and motivation for and interest in microbiology.
