ROCKLAND — The Rockland Planning Board gave final approval Sept. 7 for a commercial garage on Thomaston Street.
The board approved the application by Raymond Robinson of Robinson Waste Service for a 2,000-square-foot garage, which would be erected at 229 Thomaston St.
The $100,000 project will take six months to complete once ground is broken.
The board initially reviewed the project in August, but asked for additional information before granting final approval at the September meeting.
This is the property where Studio Red considered building a studio in January 2020. The City Council was asked to approve a zone change for the lot, which is located in an industrial zone, but with adjacent residential zones.
The Council expressed concern about the lack of sidewalks for a place that would serve children. The project did not go forward.
