“White Head with Surf, Monhegan” by David Vickery.

CUSHING — Arts in the Barn presents “David Vickery, Oil Painter” Friday through Sunday, Sept. 10 through 12, at the Cushing Historical Society, 17 Hathorne Point Road. The opening reception is Friday, Sept. 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. and gallery hours are Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 11 and 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Vickery is a self-taught artist of refined paintings and exceptional imagery. A 30-year resident of Cushing, he describes himself as a contemporary realist painter. He is represented locally by Dowling Walsh Gallery in Rockland. “I’ve enjoyed showing my latest paintings (at Good Neighbor Park), as it gives me the opportunity to meet and talk with people about the work,” he said.

Vickery will be at the barn during the show and will be happy to answer questions or discuss his work with visitors.
