Midcoast high school golf teams enjoyed links action in recent days, as Medomak Valley, Mount View, Belfast and Camden Hills searched for victories.

Medomak Valley came up short in a 9-0 loss against host Lincoln Academy of Newcastle, while Belfast lost 8-1 to Lawrence of Fairfield on Wednesday, Sept. 1.

Camden Hills also ran into a pair of talented opponents on Tuesday, Aug. 31, as Mount Ararat of Topsham earned an 8.5-0.5 win and Brunswick an 8-1 victory in matches against the Windjammers at the Brunswick Golf Course.

On Thursday, Sept. 2, the Windjammers split with Mount Blue of Farmington and Lewiston, while the Panthers lost to Leavitt of Turner in road matches. Mount View of Thorndike, which does not have enough golfers to compete as a team this season, also lost to Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield.

Lewiston 6.5, Camden Hills 2.5

At Auburn Sept. 2, the Blue Devils drove, chipped and putted past the visiting Windjammers. Lewiston prevailed by a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 175 to 180 for Camden Hills.

The individual results, with Camden Hills players listed first, were: Parker Hilchey (35) beat Cam Morin (53), 5-and-4; Aidan O’Connell (46) lost to Will Routhier, 3-and-2; Liam O’Dwyer (46) beat Sam Courtamanche (48), 1-up; Joe Coffey (53) lost to Charlie Foster (44), 5-and-4; Eben Fagonde (63) tied Ben Jenkins (59); and Declan Buchanan (57) lost to Ethan Blue (41), 4-and-2.

Camden Hills 8, Mount Blue 1

At Auburn Sept. 2, the Windjammers sailed past the Cougars. Camden Hills prevailed by a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 180 to 194 for Mount Blue.

The individual results, with Camden Hills players listed first, were: Parker Hilchey (35) beat John Knapp, 5-and-4; Aidan O’Connell (46) beat Ryker Samson (47), 2-up; Liam O’Dwyer (46) beat Zac Coban (48), 2-up; Joe Coffey (53) tied Eli Guerette (58); Eben Fagonde (63) lost to Connor Huffnagle (52), 2-up; and Declan Buchanan (57) tied Ryan Keaton (72).

Leavitt 9, Medomak Valley 0

At Turner Sept. 2, the Hornets stung the visiting Panthers. Leavitt prevailed by a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 160 to 230 for Medomak Valley.

The individual results, with Medomak Valley players listed first, were: Tyler Metcalf (49) lost to Ruby Haylock (41), 3-and-1; Logan Look (57) lost to Billy Visconti (39), 5-and-3; Lochlan Murray (64) lost to Jade Haylock (42), 5-and-3; James Mayo (60) lost to Alexis McCormick (38), 4-and-3; and Aiden Abbotoni (84) lost to Aidan Lind (43), 5-and-4. A.J. Davis also shot a 46 for Leavitt.

Lincoln Academy 9, Medomak Valley 0

At Walpole Sept. 1, the Eagles made quick work of the visiting Panthers. Lincoln Academy won by a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 183 to 237 for Medomak Valley.

The individual results, with Medomak Valley players listed first, were: Tyler Metcalf (50) lost to Kellen Adickes (38), 4-and-3; Logan Look (63) lost to Sebastian Cheesbro (48), 3-and-2; Lochlan Murray (63) lost to Will Farrell (52), 5-and-3; James Mayo (61) lost to Damon Ellenwood (48), 4-and-2; and Aiden Abbotoni (78) lost to Griffin Bond (53), 5-and-4. Colby Feltis also shot 70 for LA.

At Brunswick Aug. 31, the Eagles soared past the Windjammers by a convincing margin. Mount Ararat finished with a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 180 to 192 for Camden Hills.

The individual results, with Camden Hills golfers listed first, were: Parker Hilchey (38) beat Parker Bate (43), 2-up; Liam O’Dwyer (51) lost to Ty Henke (39), 5-and-3; Aidan O’Connell (51) lost to Luke Spooner (49), 1-up; Joe Coffey (52) lost to Sam Betz (49), 5-and-4; and Eben Fagonde (59) lost to Noah Cook (58).

At Brunswick Aug. 31, the Dragons defended their lair and bested the visiting Windjammers. Brunswick finished with a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 167 to 192 for Camden Hills.
