CAMDEN — Maine Master Gardener John Fromer will lead an outdoor talk on dividing perennials in the late season, at Merryspring Nature Center Tuesday, Sept. 14 at noon.

Late summer and early fall are great times to divide perennials. In this program, Fromer will demonstrate how to divide a variety of plants in the late season. The talk will include division methods and best practices being done in autumn to ensure a healthy and bountiful spring garden.

Fromer has been a Maine Master Gardener since 1998 and runs Appleton Ridge Flower and Vegetable Farm with his wife Kathy, also a Maine Master Gardener. He currently serves on the Merryspring board of trustees.

This talk is part of Merryspring’s Outdoor Summer Talk series. Outdoor Talks are held in a distanced manner in the Hexagon at Merryspring. The cost of this program is $5 for the general public, with a free admission for Merryspring members. No preregistration is necessary for this event.
