ROCKPORT – Mary Jane (“Janie”) Jacques, 70, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, at Pen Bay Medical Center after a period of declining health following a hard-fought battle and complications from a stroke in late June. Prior to retiring in 2013, Janie was a co-owner of Snappy’s Pizza in Rockland for 12 years.

Janie will be remembered for her deep devotion to her family, her candor, sense of humor, and unwavering commitment to helping shape the lives of hundreds of children in the Thomaston community. Janie was especially proud of her boys and each of her grandchildren, and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who brought joy and happiness wherever she went. Her wisdom, friendship, and compassionate heart will be deeply missed.
