WARREN — An early Aug. 29 crash in Warren injured the driver. The crash also knocked out power to about 1,800 homes for several hours.

The Knox County Regional Communications Center received reports at about 4:15 a.m. of a single-vehicle crash on the Eastern Road in Warren near the Warren Community School, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation so far shows that a 2010 Ford Explorer, operated by Rebecca Linscott, 47, of Rockland, was traveling in the southbound lane. Linscott’s vehicle then crossed left over the center line into the northbound lane, went into the left hand ditch and struck a utility pole.

Linscott was taken to a local hospital for injuries. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by KRCC, Warren Fire and EMS, Oyster River Towing and Central Maine Power.

Intoxication is believed to be a factor in the crash, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
