CAMDEN — Megunticook Rowing has open registration for fall youth rowing at varsity and club levels.

Megunticook Rowing varsity is designed for high school-aged girls and boys who want to row at a competitive level, and race in team boats. The team will train on the water, Monday through Friday, before school, and plan to compete in regattas with other youth rowing programs.

The club rowing program is designed for girls and boys ages 12-18, who are learning to row, or who prefer a more relaxed, noncompetitive, schedule. Practices will be three afternoons each week.

The program’s focus is an introduction to rowing, building technique and endurance, and enjoying time on the water. Rowers in this program will not participate in out-of-town regattas.

Those who plan to participate are asked to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at the indoor training space at the Midcoast Recreation Center in Rockport. A virtual attendance option is offered for this meeting.

For more information, and to register, visit the organization’s website megunticookrowing.org/ and select “Youth Rowing Fall 2021.”

Megunticook Rowing also will provide coached rowing for adults at the novice and advanced level. There will be options to row in single shells and team boats. Private lessons are available.
