UNION — Dee Dee, a Jersey cow from Meadowview Farm of Leeds, gave birth in the middle of the day to a healthy, 100 pound heifer named Daisy during the Union Fair Aug. 26.
The announcement went over the loudspeaker Thursday afternoon that a newborn calf could be spotted at the cattle barn.
Visitors from around the fair came to see the pair, while Daisy took her first unsteady steps and Dee Dee patiently cleaned the calf.
