CAMDEN — The Mid-coast Recovery Coalition Board of Directors has announced Chris Young, chief of the Rockland Police Department, as a newly elected board member.

Young joined the Rockland Police Department in January 1996 and has held many ranks until being promoted to chief of police in 2015. He has seen firsthand the effects of addiction and is committed to make the community stronger and more resilient. He was assigned to a drug taskforce and worked as both a case agent and in an undercover capacity during his tenure with the department.

Board President Robyn Stanicki stated, “I am pleased that Chris has chosen to expand his service to the mid-coast area by joining our Board. Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition is led by caring and empathetic community members and has worked hard in the past year to develop and maintain relationships with service providers and town officials. As we continue to integrate into the surrounding communities, Chris will be a key leader as we move in this direction.”
