ROCKLAND — Three people were charged Aug. 20 for drug offenses following a traffic stop in Rockland, police said.

Rockland police stopped the vehicle Aug. 20 in the area of Holmes Street. The vehicle was searched and officers found more than 60 grams of cocaine and more than 28 grams of fentanyl, along with drug paraphernalia, scales, and packaging material.

As a result of the traffic stop, Darrin Upton, 39, of South Thomaston, was charged with aggravated trafficking, trafficking, trafficking in prison contraband and a probation violation, according to Rockland police.

Davis Crowell, 30, of Waldoboro, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and a probation violation; and Jamie Nickerson, 32, of Rockport, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and a probation violation.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency assisted in the stop and is continuing the investigation.
