The town’s Comprehensive Plan Committee is moving forward with its mission to update the existing 2004 plan.

It has begun to seek input from residents on their opinions to direct the future of the town with its initiative, Rockport Forward.

“Rockport Forward is a committee appointed by the town to gather data and insights from our citizens for the development of a 10-year Rockport Comprehensive Plan,” states an information card from the town office. “This plan will help guide town government and committees when making decisions around future growth and policies for Rockport’s future. It is very important that we collect opinions and ideas from the widest array of community members possible. To that end, we have built an interactive webpage with various ways you can participate both in person and virtually. Visit

The project may be somewhat long-range given that the cards are labeled “Rockport Comprehensive Plan 2030.”

Residents who have any questions can reach out to Orion Thomas, the Planning and Development Director at the town office.
