ROCKLAND — Maine Audubon’s Staff Naturalist and one of Maine Regional eBird reviewers, Doug Hitchcox, will offer a Zoom talk Wednesday, Aug. 25, at 6:30 p.m. Learn ways to contribute to bird research through the eBird app.

Hitchcox, also will show tools that enhance all birding skills.

Since the Cornell Lab of Ornithology launched eBird in 2002, it grew to be one of the largest citizen science projects in the world due to thousands of volunteers submitting bird sightings.

There are over 100 million sightings contributed annually, with 20% growth annually. These observations are changing the ways research is done and also created tools that are invaluable to birders.
