Garden passes now available at Thomaston Public Library

THOMASTON — The Thomaston Public Library announced it is participating in Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens’ new Library Pass Program. Library patrons can now reserve tickets to the gardens, for up to two adults and any number of children under age 18 at no charge to the patron.

Explore more than 300 acres of gardens and natural spaces, from the Native Butterfly and Moth House to the Bibby and Harold Alfond Children’s Garden, or Giles Rhododendron and Perennial Garden, and visit the new Giant Trolls, the Guardians of the Seeds.

The gardens are open rain or shine, seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 1 to Oct. 17. Learn more about Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens at mainegardens.org.

Italian supper at Evening Star Grange Aug. 14

WASHINGTON — The Evening Star Grange in Washington will offer a public Italian supper Aug. 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The menu will include lasagna, eggplant parmesan, shrimp scampi, chicken alfredo and more. Dessert and drinks are included.

Each meal is $10, or $9 if you bring a non-perishable item. All proceeds go to the food pantry. For more information, call 845-3102.

Historical society to host open house Aug. 15

ST. GEORGE — The St. George Historical Society announced an open house for the public to attend at the Andrew Robinson Homestead, located at 945 River Road. This open house will be Sunday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Historical Society will have the Robinson Family Display – Fort Point Display available for viewing.

Jackson Memorial Library to have final book sale Aug. 17

TENANTS HARBOR — The Jackson Memorial Library book sale finale will take place Aug. 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 71 Main St. in Tenants Harbor.

In addition to non-fiction books at $1 each, bake goods will be offered and the raffle will be drawn at 2 p.m. Raffle tickets are available during library hours up until the drawing at 2 p.m. Aug. 14. There is over 70 items to choose from. Gift certificates may be mailed and are still valid next summer.

Artists and Craftsmen Festival to be held Aug. 22

UNION — Members of the Union Fair announce that all state fine artists, makers and crafters may come to the Artists and Craftsmen Festival. This new event during the Fair week Sunday, Aug. 22, runs concurrent with the Union Fair.

Spaces are $35 for the first 10 x 10 and $25 for subsequent spaces.
