ROCKLAND — Two people were injured Aug. 10, following a two-car crash at the intersection of Maverick and North Main streets in Rockland.
Hana Galkowski, 22, of South Thomaston was stopped at the stop sign on North Main Street. Galkowski began making a left turn and drove into the path of a 1996 Ford F-150 that was heading east on Maverick Street and driven by Elizabeth Smith, 21, of Union, according to Rockland police.
The pickup truck struck the driver’s side door of Galkowski’s vehicle.
Galkowski and her adult passenger were taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport for minor injuries.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene for disabling damage.
Rockland Police Sgt. Ken Smith is investigating the crash. The Rockland Fire Department also responded to the crash that occurred shortly after noon on Aug. 10. Sections of North Main and Maverick streets were blocked to traffic for less than an hour.
The investigation is ongoing for possible charges, according to police.
