CAMDEN — Artist Kathryn Oliver’s August exhibit, “Gardening the Heart,” features seven large scale paintings in the First Congregational Church Sanctuary, 55 Elm St.

“The heart is a garden which needs tending, reminding me (especially in the most difficult moments) that each small seed contains within itself a dream of blooming,” Oliver said. In this series, she draws upon ancient Byzantine iconography through her studies with Greek master iconographer George Kordis.

Enjoy a viewing opportunity combined with beautiful music with Bay Chamber Concerts’ Candlelit Baroque Friday, Aug. 13, at 7:30 p.m. For tickets and more information, visit baychamber.org/nextonstage/candlelit-baroque.
