CUSHING — The Arts in the Barn series continues with a photography exhibit by CT Adams entitled “Invitations to Journey” Friday through Sunday, Aug. 6 through 8, at 17 Hathorne Point Road. The opening reception is Friday, Aug. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m., and work is on view Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 7 and 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Adams is a visionary photographer who prints in large format to express the power of composition, surprise elements and the moods of nature.
“I believe the natural world is an inherent part of who we are. However, our relationship is easy to take for granted. Photography can highlight our connection to nature and offer moments of visual clarity. Images can be revisited repeatedly and foster a greater level of understanding,” he said. “I view my work as an invitation to journey, an opportunity to not only ask questions about what is within the frame, but also about what is inside one’s self.”
Adams was the technical director and printer at Caponigro Arts in Cushing for 10 years, where he worked with renowned visual artist John Paul Caponigro. Midcoast Maine has always been dear to his heart and served as the gateway for his journey into the world of photography. He lives in Damariscotta with his wife and three daughters.
Arts in the Barn is a program of the Cushing Historical Society, a non-profit organization. Learn more at artsinthebarncushing.com.
