ROCKLAND — The Midcoast Sternmen have played two home games thus far in the regular season, and while both have been at different courts in Waldo and Knox counties, the results have been different, with the Knox county gymnasium the favorable one of the two.

The only Professional Basketball Association team in Maine — and in New England — was back on the court Saturday, July 17, at the Flanagan Center in Rockland in front of a large crowd and had little trouble with the Buffalo Blaze in a dominating 102-66 victory.

The Sternmen were originally scheduled to play home contests at Point Lookout in Northport before the gym abruptly closed its doors in June, but played their first home contest there June 5, a 92-88 loss to the New York Generals.

Midcoast defeated Buffalo in the second game of the regular season on the road 93-77 back on May 30.

On July 17, Trevon Butler dropped a season-high 40 points for Midcoast, while Carter Skaggs tallied 14, Izaiah Winston-Brooks and Joey Puddister, 11; Khalif Jackson, nine; Jaylen LeRoy and Isaiah Brathwaite, eight; and Thomas Enerva, two.

The Sternmen hit seven three pointers, as Skaggs netted four; Brathwaite, two; and Puddister, one.

Scoring totals for Blaze players were unavailable.
