Pie social and concern to be held July 16

UNION — The Union Founders Day Union Area Chamber of Commerce, now Famous Pie Social and Concerts, will be held on the Union Common Friday, July 16, beginning at 6 p.m.

Buy a slice from a variety of pies, and and enjoy music at 6 p.m. by the Bay Winds North, as they play a variety of tunes, followed at 7 p.m. by the Breakers Jazz.

All proceeds are for the Union Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund.

St. George Days to start with craft fair, flea market, open houses July 17

ST. GEORGE — The St. George Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Association will hold its first St. George Days crafts fair and flea market Saturday, July 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Tenants Harbor Big Ball Field, 144 Port Clyde Road. Over 25 vendors will exhibit their wares. No admission charge; donations welcome.

All funds support the St. George Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Association.

The association will also hold open houses from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the firehouse in Tenants Harbor, and at their new training facility at the Rte. 73 station.

Free chicken BBQ supper offered July 17

UNION — Union Masonic Lodge #31 will have a free to the public Chicken Barbeque Saturday, July 17, with curbside pickup available from noon to 3 p.m., or while supplies last.

The menu includes 1/2 of a chicken, coleslaw, potato salad, corn on the cob, rolls and a beverage.
Donations will be accepted for the Come Spring Food Pantry, which serves residents of Union, Appleton and Hope.

Reservations are preferred and can be made by calling Gary at 749-1846. Union Masonic Lodge #31 is located at 149 Sennebec Road.

Williams-Brazier announces baked bean supper July 17

THOMASTON — Time for the monthly bean supper at 1o Watts Lane! All present Post 37 procedures, as well as all COVID-19 guidelines, will be followed. There is limited inside seating, as well as to-go meals. There will be a sign-in to include a telephone number.

Menu to include baked beans, hot dogs, coleslaw, American chop suey, bread rolls, sweet and sour pickles, coffee and dessert. Each meal is $10.

Meals may not be ready to be served until 5 p.m. Meals can be ordered ahead of time, then picked up after 5 p.m. Pre-orders can be made by calling Social Activities Committee Chairperson George Robinson Jr. Call 790-2204 or email robmainer@outlook.com to reserve a meal. Virtual program on strategies involving less household waste July 19

VIRTUAL — Join Julie Olson from Zero Waste Maine July 19 at 5 p.m. on Zoom to learn how she reduced her household’s trash by more than 85% and how you too can make less trash using a variety of practical skills and strategies!
