THOMASTON — The town recreation department’s inaugural Adult Coed Kickball League — well — figuratively and literally kicked off on Thursday, July 8 on the Thomaston Little League Field on Watts Lane, as roughly 50 competitors converged on the diamond for good, old-fashioned fun.
The initial games were a round-robin format and 30 minutes in length, with five games played and the latter games under the lights.
There are five teams in the league, thus far, but league organizer Jared Porter said there is time to register more teams before the regular season begins on Thursday, July 15.
The registration deadline has been extended to Tuesday, July 13.
Teams are made up of a minimum of 12 players and maximum of 15 with league entry fee $150 per team. The fee will be used to help pay for the field, lights and trophies. There will be a playoff structure and league champion.
Games are Thursdays, begin at 6 p.m. and typically an hour in length.
