Four additional cases of COVID-19 cases were diagnosed in Knox County residents during the past day, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Thursday.
That is the largest single-day jump in Knox County since May 27 when four additional cases were reported.
This brings the total number of Knox County residents diagnosed with the virus since the pandemic began in mid-March 2020 to 1,154. There were no additional people hospitalized or died in Knox County during the past day. Since the pandemic began, 36 Knox County residents have been hospitalized and six have died.
Statewide, there were 36 additional cases and no additional deaths.
Currently, there are 31 people in the hospital statewide due to COVID-19 with 16 in critical care units and six on respirators.
Ninety-two additional people in Knox County have been vaccinated in the past day. Seventy-three percent of Knox County residents have been vaccinated.
