ROCKLAND — Flow Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competed in two June tournaments.
On Saturday, June 19, 13 competitors represented Flow at The Good Fight Tournament in Boston, Mass. in what was a submission-only event. The local team brought home a staggering 11 gold medals.
The individual results included: Rhys Hatch in the children’s division: bronze in Gi and gold in No Gi; Bryce Gushee-Brown in the children’s division: gold in Gi and gold in No Gi; Austin White-Ortiz: 3 golds, one in teen beginner Gi, one in teen beginner No Gi and one in teen intermediate No Gi; Mare Galvez: silver in teen Gi and silver in teen No Gi; Meg Gleasner: gold women’s Gi and silver women’s No Gi; Hayleigh Martz: gold women’s Gi and two golds for women’s No Gi; Michael Galvez: bronze men’s beginner No Gi; Aidan Hamar: bronze men’s white belt Gi and silver men’s No Gi; Bryan Clement: bronze adult beginner Gi; Erie Galvez: silver men’s purple belt Gi; and Gregory Nadeau: gold men’s brown belt Gi, Bronze brown/black No Gi.
Max Lombardo and James Dewalt also participated in their first competitions, but did not medal.
On Saturday, June 12, three Flow competitors attended a Grappling Industries event in Derry, N.H. At this event, Bryce Gushee-Brown won two silvers (Gi and No Gi); Rhys Hatch, silver in Gi and gold in No Gi; and Bryan Clement brought home bronze in adult (185 pounds) No Gi.
